Marie Lichtenberg
A background as a fashion editor at ELLE magazine gradually led Marie Lichtenberg to embark on a personal adventure in jewellery design. Growing up with a mother who collected antique jewellery, she was quickly drawn to pieces that carried a story, like talismans. She drew inspiration from her Creole roots and used the large hollowed-out gold chains with their imposing clasps as the basis for her collections, symbols of liberation from slavery that became emblems of emancipation and heritage for her. She then flew to India where she discovered the Mauli, a hand-woven prayer link blessed in the temples of Jaipur, which reflects a mystical power. Marie Lichtenberg wishes to create jewellery that can materialise love, that is given to people who matter, and thus adorns her barrettes with universal sweet words and precious stones.
