    American Vintage is a French ready-to-wear brand, created in Marseille by Mickaël Azoulay in 2005. Since 2009, its head office is in Signes, in the Var. The premises were designed by the Marseille architect Yvann Pluskwa. The name of the company is a tribute to Mickaël Azoulay's travels in the United States and the values associated with vintage style: authenticity, durability and comfort.

    The creator of the brand American Vintage, Michaël Azoulay, is originally from Marseille. After a professional baccalaureate in electricity, he got a job as a salesman in ready-to-wear clothing. He then discovered a gift for fashion and was attracted to design. In 2001, he launched a line of jumpers for women. Someone close to him noticed his talent and encouraged him to persevere. Inspired by his travels in the United States, Michaël Azoulay founded American Vintage in 2005, at only 23 years old.

    The first collection of the brand was released in 2005. It consisted only of T-shirts, available in a multitude of shapes and colors. In 2007, a first boutique opened in Marseille. Then, the label diversified with a men's line in 2008, accessories from 2013 (handbags, backpacks and clutches), and a range of homewear since 2017.
